About Us:
During the fall of 1990, Jay Driesen began building a log home for his family near Lake Red Rock (Pella, IA). As with most log homes, the Driesens' home drew a lot of attention. Impressed with the quality and precision of the craftsmanship, several individuals asked Jay to build the homes that they had been planning. Shortly, after the completion of their home, Jay left his engineering position and formed Rustic Home Builders L.L.C. Over the past eleven years RHB has built several milled and handcrafted log homes - from cozy lake-side cabins to impressive sprawling log structures. Not only have they crafted quality homes, they have developed a long list of satisfied customers, many of whom are more than happy to share their experiences.
An unwavering commitment to quality and consistency is the driving mission of this company - in all aspects of business. In 1997 Rustic Home Builders joined the International Log Building Association; a non-profit organization dedicated to the research, development, and sharing of techniques in the handcrafting industry. Actively involved in the ILBA, Rustic Home Builders helps define and support proper building methods and codes. Producing the highest quality homes goes beyond following a set of codes. Jay and Jared are personally involved in all aspects of the crafting process. Every log is hand selected and inspected to assure the timber is of sound quality. They are also directly involved with and do most of the building themselves to ensure the integrity of each home. Following the re-erection of the home, coordination with general and subcontractors is important that they fully understand the additional demands of working with logs.
Equally important is the company's ability to consistently and reliably deliver their product. In 1999 Rustic Home Builders expanded their facilities to meet and exceed all aspects and demands in the handcrafted field.
