Hartford homes are priced slightly lower than those in the wealthier Fairfield County, which is closer to New York.  The capital city of Hartford is located near the center of the state, and it had been called the “Insurance Capital of the World.”  It is one of the oldest cities in the country, at almost 400 years old.  Hartford has recently attracted new development, including housing, to its riverfront downtown area.

Connecticut has four distinct seasons, which means they offer a wide variety of outdoor activities.  Boating, fishing, and swimming are popular along the coast.  In the winter, it gets cold enough to go skiing and snowmobiling in the Mohawk Mountains.
